Backpaper: VSS medicos go on rampage

BURLA: There were unruly scenes at VSS Medical College here on Saturday after students ransacked the Physiology department after they learnt that nine second year students were having  backpaper in the subject.  The results were declared on Friday and since then resentment had been brewing among the students. While department head Arati Mohanty expressed helplessness and refused to bail out the students, the Principal and Dean of the College, Prof. Santosh Kumar Behera, said there was little he can do to help the nine students as the examination is conducted by Sambalpur University.The angry students went on the rampage  and gheraoed Mohanty demanding that the students who have backpapers be cleared. At a meeting of heads of departments, it was decided to inform the State Government about the result and the incident. It was also decided to initiate measures to recover the loss incurred,  from the students and their parents.
