Balamurali is the new Sabarimala Melsanthi

SABARIMALA: N Balamurali, 39, Idamana Illom, Manikanteswaram, Thiruvananthapuram was on Tuesday selected as the new melsanthi of Sabarimala temple.T K Easwaran Nampoothiri, 44, Koramangalam,  Attukal, Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram, will be the new melsanthi of Malikapuram Devi temple.Balamurali, son of Neelakanta Sarma, is the melsanthi of Kollam Puthiyakavu Devi temple since October 1995.Easwaran Nampoothiri, son of Krishnan Nampoothiri, is functioning as a santhi at Attukal Bhagavathy temple, Thiruvananthapuram, since July 4, 1993.The selection was held on the basis of drawing of lots. The new melsanthis will take charge for a one-year term on November 17.
