BELGAUM: Mayor Manda Balekundri and Deputy Mayor Renu Killekar who have been served show cause notices for their anti-state stand met Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and urged him to supercede the city corporation. Mayor Manda and her deputy Renu met Gowda at the Belgaum Airport with ruling group leader in the corporation Sambhajirao Patil to whom the CM said: reply to the notices and the government will take its decision. They told the CM that the elected body should be superceded as even ruling group members wanted and said that the trio said they will not reply to the notices.They explained to the CM the incidents that have occurred till date since October 28.However, about 16 corporators from the ruling group under the leadership of former mayor N B Nirwani met the CM and urged him to not bow to the demands of the mayor and her deputy, but dismiss the membership of those who acted against the interest of the state. Both the factions of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike met the chief minister at a function and urged him to dismiss the membership of the mayor, her deputy and Sambhajirao Patil for their pro-Maharashtrian stand.
