Singh had said that he did not want to contest from the Darjeeling seat anymore and had expressed his wish that Barmer seat be given to him.
New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections, there is an impasse in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Barmer seat in Rajasthan. While senior party leader Jaswant Singh has expressed his desire to contest from the seat, Rajasthan Chief Minster Vasundhara Raje Scindia is seeking a ticket for Colonel Sona Ram.
Jaswant Singh, who has been contesting from the Darjeeling seat, had said that he will not contest from the Darjeeling seat anymore and had added that he wanted to contest from his native town Barmer.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Singh had said, "It has been a pleasure to contest from Darjeeling but this will be my last election so I want to go back to my hometown," he said.
