As the Lok Sabha and Odisha polls are set to occur in a few months from now, the students wing of the Congress party, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), in a satirical gesture organised the wedding ceremony of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The video of the ceremony in which the saffron party and the BJD were married off is being widely shared on social media.
As per the viral video, the wedding took place at the Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar on Thursday with all the rituals being conducted and the pundit chanting the marriage mantras.
The Congress even printed invitation cards for the marriage with the date and venue announcing the “wedding” of BJP and BJD and invited everyone to attend it and bless the bride and groom.

The wedding was part of the Congress’ new campaign ahead of the general and state elections in Odisha claiming that the BJP and BJD are in a ‘secret coalition’ in the state and are nowhere against each other.

Will BJP and BJD Unite in Upcoming Polls?
While the BJP and BJD has yet not declared their official stance on the potential alliance between the two parties ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha elections, the saffron camp has ruled out the possibility of an alliance with the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD in the state.
“There is no question of any alliance with any political party, including the BJD in the coming polls,” BJP vice-president Aparajita Sarangi said earlier.
