Year 2010, film stars have been filling their pockets with money as they sign up as brand ambassadors. Almost all have jumped on the bandwagon to promote products and gain screen time. Well if not films you might as well do something, especially if you’re being paid well for it.
We began making up the list and had started up with barely three names, but as the days went by we realised that the list was crossing more than 20 names and fifty more products. So we decided to draw the line and show you about 20 of them…mind you if you wait for just another month I am sure you will be able to add ten more celebs and a 100 more brands to the already very long list. So let’s find out which actor ousted whom to hog the limelight?
RANBIR KAPOOR replaces Shah Rukh Khan in Pepsi and Hrithik Roshan in John Players
The chocolate boy has been on everyone’s wish list. As mentioned earlier, Ranbir was signed on for Virgin Mobiles with Genelia D’souza. The ad has already hit the television screens as you see how Ranbir gets the number of a gal while Genelia and a few others help him. Last week, Ranbir was also signed on by ITC John Players to endorse their clothing line. In addition to all that, Ranbir is currently shooting for his cola we mean Pepsi brand along with Sanju baba (Sanjay Dutt) and Jacqueline. The ad is set to release in April. Well we guess it’s worth the wait, what say?
GENELIA D’SOUZA replaces Tara Sharma for Garnier
She is currently doing the maximum number of ads. Genelia D’souza has currently signed up as brand ambassador for almost three products this year. Everyone’s already familiar with the Garnier ad - ‘Talk talk talk...’ Apparently after that Genelia has become hot property in the ad world as she goes on to sign two more products. Genelia is now the brand ambassador of Virgin Mobiles along with Ranbir Kapoor and will also be endorsing LG Mobiles this one is with John Abraham and Abhay Deol. She is indeed connected with the hunks of Bollywood. Lucky dame I’d say.
AKSHAY KUMAR replaces Salman Khan for Dollar Baniyan and Abhishek Bachchan for LG Flat TV
Next in line is the Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar with almost three products in his pocket. Akshay began the year by signing up for Dollar Baniyan replacing the previous face of the product, Salman Khan. Then he went on to sign Micromax a wireless solution provider. Apparently, the company has paid a whooping amount of money to sign the actor. Clearly Akshay is making the best of his popularity with the masses. The latest product that Akshay has been signed as brand ambassador is LG Flat TV earlier Abhishek Bachchan was the face of the product.
KAREENA KAPOOR replaces Hrithik Roshan for Sony Ericsson
Bebo has signed her first product for the year, Sony Ericsson. Kareena is set to begin the shoot of the ad. Sony Ericsson has already selected Anuj Alia to direct the commercial. The ad will be shot at Mehboob Studios.

Mr. Perfectionist has made a record breaking deal. Aamir Khan is signed on as the brand ambassador of UAE’s Etisalat, India’s latest telecom entrant. News is that Aamir signed the product for a period of three years and is being paid a whooping Rs 35 crore. Wow! Now that’s what I call minting money.
IMRAN KHAN replaces Hrithik Roshan for Coca-Cola
Imran seems to be following his uncle’s footsteps. Earlier it was Aamir and now it’s Imran who will be endorsing Coca-Cola. Imran was seen in the ad with Kalki Koechlin of Dev D fame. Apparently the actor was mobbed by fans while shooting for the ad in the BEST bus.
HRITHIK ROSHAN replaces Saif Ali Khan for Provogue
He is synonymous with sincerity personified. Hrithik was signed on as brand ambassador for LifeCell Babycord. Hrithik did the photo shoot for the ad along with his wife. LifeCell talks about preserving the child's umbilical cord at the time of birth and giving the child a safe and secured future. Now that I believe is perfect selection. The actor has recently been signed on for Provogue.
KATRINA KAIF (New Product)
The sensuous and gorgeous Katrina Kaif has been the latest fad in B-Town. Right from filmmakers to ad geniuses thinks she is ideal package for any product. So without wasting anytime, Lux has signed the beauty to be their brand ambassador. After signing the deal with the company Katrina flew to Bangkok for four days to shoot for the 30-seconds long ad film.
LARA DUTTA replaces Sandhya Mridul in Colgate ad
Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta has been signed as the new brand ambassador of the oral cares major, Colgate Palmolive. You must have caught Lara shedding her wig and jacket to talk about Colgate at the super market in the ad.
SHAHID KAPOOR(New Face)
It’s not only in Yash Raj’s film, Badmaash Company that Shahid Kapoor and Anushka will be seen together. The duo has been signed as brand ambassadors for skin care company Vaselin. Ad with Shahid talking about Vaseline are already out Anushka is yet to be seen in the ad.
ABHISHEK BACHCHAN (New Product)
The junior Bachchan has been signed as the brand ambassador for Videocon DTH and Idea. The actor has also claimed that his wife and Big B would also be helping him with the campaign. Now that is the bonus you get for having a star studded family.
SHAH RUKH KHAN replaces Sunny Deol for Lux Cozi
The Badshah of Bollywood so far has signed only for Lux Cozi this year. With this SRK will be competing with Salman and Akshay Kumar for Dixcy Scott and Dollar respectively. Shah Rukh was awarded the Brand Ambassador of the year in NDTV profit C&B awards this year.
VIDYA BALANreplaces Shweta Tiwari for Dabur Hair Oil and Rani Mukherji for Good Knight
Vidya Balan has been signed on as the brand ambassador of sleep awareness month of March. The awareness month aims to sensitise people about sleep disorders which are often ignored. The actress is also the new face of Dabur Amla Hair Oil and has begun endorsing Godrej Sara Lee’s Good Knight Naturals.
SHARMAN JOSHI replaces Madhavan and Vidya Balan
Till yesterday it was Airtel for the bustling actor, but recently Sharman was signed as the brand ambassador for Nokia’s new X series range of cell phones. Sharman Joshi was signed along with Adah Sharma for a period of one year.
SANJAY DUTT(New Product)
Sanjay Dutt aka Sanju Baba as mentioned before will be starring in the Pepsi commercial with Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline. Along with this Sanjay Dutt has also been signed for X Shades as brand ambassador. The brand lately has gone ahead to sign Suniel Shetty and Bruna Abdullah as co brand ambassadors of the product.
SHAZAHN PADAMSEE(New Product in India)
With just one film Shazahn Padamsee has also entered the world of endorsements. The pretty lady has become the brand ambassador of the lifestyle footwear, Skechers.
