Can appeal against AQ Khan's release: Pak minister
Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Khan's release is not an executive decision.

Munich: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that he would look into Islamabad High Court's decision to free controversial nuclear scientist AQ Khan.

Qureshi said the government has the right to appeal against the Islamabad High Court judgment.

"It is not the executive decision but the judiciary's. We have the right to appeal against the decision. I will find out the government position once I go back," Qureshi said on Sunday in Munich, Germany where he is attending a Security Policy Conference.

AQ Khan was freed last Friday after five years of house arrest for allegedly selling nuclear secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea.

The court also ruled that charges against AQ Khan could not be proved.

India and the US have hit out at Pakistan for releasing Khan, terming the move as a security risk.
