CBI to probe Haryana rape case
Sarita committed suicide alleging police inaction after two Haryana police constables allegedly raped her.

Chandigarh: Haryana government on Monday handed over the case relating to the alleged rape of a woman by two policemen in Rohtak to CBI.

Sarita, a mother of two minor girls, committed suicide at the state police headquarters in Panchkula near last week after senior police officers failed to take action on her complaint against the two constables of Rohtak who had allegedly raped her in April.

An official spokesman said Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda decided to hand over the investigations of the case to CBI and a formal request was being sent to the Centre

The decision has been taken to ensure free and fair probe into the incident, the spokesman said.
