Central agengy alerts Karnataka as next terrorist target
Terrorists from Pak and Bangladesh were sneaking into Karnataka.

Belgaum: Central intelligence has alerted Karnataka that Bangalore is the next target of terrorists after the November 26 Mumbai attack, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday.

Replying to a discussion on law and order situation, Yeddyurappa told the legislative assembly, which is in session here, that "we have received alert (from central intelligence agencies) that Bangalore is the next target".

He said terrorists from Pakistan and Bangladesh were sneaking into Karnataka and other parts of the country through the coast.

Yeddyurappa criticised the Centre ''for not stationing an NSG Unit in Bangalore despite giving an assurance to do so earlier.''

He said a city like Bangalore, which is of global importance and has sensitive defence establishments, certainly merits an NSG unit.

The Chief Minister said a meeting of Vice-Chancellors of universities would be convened soon to take steps to prevent terrorists from enrolling in colleges.

He said a round-the-clock police control room has been set up in all districts, adding, police personnel are being given "special training".
