HYDERABAD: Expressing concern over the recent violence at Regency Ceramics Ltd in Yanam, industry bodies on Thursday urged the state government to conduct a probe into the incidents. “The incident is a blot on the very process of collective bargaining, intended to amicably resolve differences between the management and employees. The incident is an indication that undesirable elements are gaining access to the negotiating process, disrupting industrial relations between management and employees and endangering the well-maintained industrial climate in the state,” said the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in a statement. It further added that such acts of vandalism, hooliganism and violence will affect the industrial peace in the state.“We request the government to immediately conduct an enquiry into the untoward incident and ensure that necessary preventive and pre-emptive steps are taken,” FAPCCI said.Meanwhile, terming the deaths of Regency Ceramics president (operations) KC Chandrashekar and trade union leader Murali Mohan as highly regrettable, CII southern region chairman TT Ashok said the loss of livelihood of the Regency Ceramics employees was unfortunate. “While the rights of employees are to be respected, unnecessary violence and chaos causes tremendous loss to both the employees and industry. CII urges the government of Puducherry to constitute a high-level committee to enquire into this tragic incident and provide security and protection to all public and private properties as well as industrial establishments,” he added
