SHIMOGA: Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda announced the expenses of medical treatment for patients suffering from Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) will be borne under Chief Minister Relief Fund.Talking to reporters in the city on Saturday, Gowda said the health department administered KFD vaccine to 1, 4000 people in the district. Steps would be taken to establish a laboratory in the district. “Both deputy commissioner (DC) and District health and family officer (DHO) are directed to take suitable action in this regard,” he said.CM said the loss incurred due to forest fire in Shettihalli wildlife sanctuary was ascertained and suitable relief would be provided to people, who suffered losses in the incident.Ongoing work of Mc Gann hospital of the city slowed down temporarily and concerned authorities were directed to complete the work before the last week of May, added Gowda.However, he denied there was a slow down in the ongoing works across the district. “Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, BJP state president KS Eshwarappa and in-charge secretary of the district Lakshminarayana were supervising all the ongoing works and there was no hurdle in execution of the work,” he said.Pprecautionary measures are taken up in 200 villages of the district to tackle water crisis.He expressed confidence that BJP would retain Chikmagalur-Udupi Lok Sabha constituency and would win by a huge margin. Further replying to a query over his participation in the Hubli convention, Sadananda Gowda said he as received invitation and was busy with the preparations of Lok Sabha byelection. Gowda assured he would present a good budget for the people of the state. “About 85 percent of budget work is completed,” the chief minister added.
