BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday said it is important to provide children facilities to grow and learn properly. He visited the concluding day function of Suravi-2011 here. The government is working on making the schools children-friendly, safe and a conducive for learning, he said. School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena and Secretary Aparajita Sarangi also went through workshops and interacted with students. “We do not want to confine the children’s education to books. We want them to play and learn simultaneously. The motto ‘Today’s Call, Education for All’, should ring in every part of the State,” said Jena. There are also plans to fill up 7,000 teacher posts and set up primary school within a km radius of every village and a high school within 3 km radius, he said.
