BAGALKOT: Describing Jnana Peetha award to Dr Chandrashekhar Kambar as the honour to Kannada Naadu-Nudi, Kannada and Culture and District Minister Govind Karjol told reporters here on Saturday that Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda will on behalf of the Government honour Jnana Peetha awardee litterateur Dr Chandrashekhar Kambar. The function will be held at Ravindra Kala Kshetra, Bangalore on Monday where in Kambar will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh and a citation. He said it is proposed to organise drama fests throughout the state in order to introduce Kambar’s dramas to general public. Karjol said in view of Kambar’s contribution in the field of folk literature, programmes on folk will also be conducted in the state. Referring to Koppal by-elections, Karjol expressed confidence that BJP candidate Sanganna Karadi will win elections with a big margin.
