However, it will take time to get a lead in the case as we have to trace the people who planted the bomb,” the Crime Branch officials said.The Crime Branch had failed to establish the involvement of the accused behind the bomb blast.“More than 20 persons involved in the terror cases have been quizzed. But their involvement could not be established. The suspicion of Maoist involvement could not be established either. Later, we received information about the pro-Dalitgroup planning anti-government activities to express their resentment. The investigation is now proceeding in this direction,” the Crime Branch official said.Meanwhile, the Crime Branch quizzed Santhosh, the accused in placing the pipe-bomb near the railway track at Velloor, but could not find a common thread in the two cases.“We suspected him to be one of the activists engaged in violence. But we could not find any connection between both the cases. We quizzed him for more than six hours on Monday.
