BANGALORE: The consumer disputes redressal forum directed Jet Airways to pay a compensation of Rs 450 per each Kg for lost baggage along with a compensation and a cost of Rs 10,000 to a passenger who lost his baggage while in transit. Raja Debbarman, lost his baggage while traveling to Agartala. The total cost of the baggage was estimated to be nearly Rs 40,650. As the Airways refused to pay the compensation, Debbarman filed a suit before the third additional consumer disputes redressal forum seeking compensation. As Jet Airways had already mentioned while booking the luggage that the company will be liable to pay Rs 450 per Kg for the lost baggage.The consumer forum directed Jet Airway to pay Rs 450 per Kg of the lost baggage along with compensation and a cost of Rs 10,000 to Debbarman for the lost baggage while in the transit.
