Court rejects ex-Goa minister's bail plea
The bail of Lyndon Monteiro, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Pacheco, was rejected by a local court on Wednesday.

Panaji: A Margao court has rejected anticipatory bail plea of former Goa Tourism Minister Francisco Pacheco, prime suspect in the death of his close friend Nadia Torrado.

An FIR has been filed against him. He is now accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Police sources say Pacheco along with Nadia's family destroyed crucial evidence in this case.

Nadia's mother has been questioned by the Crime Branch.

Nadia’s family claims they're being pressurised to implicate Pacheco, who is still on the run. The family has now moved Bombay High Court seeking a CBI inquiry.

Nadia's second postmortem report states that there were as many as 11 injures on her body. Sources also say Nadia's maid has told police that Pacheco had a fight with Nadia before her death.

Nadia's husband Winston Berrato has withdrawn his anticipatory bail from Margao session's court.

On Wednesday, the anticipatory bail of Lyndon Monteiro, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Pacheco, was rejected by a local court.

The sessions court rejected the bail plea of Monteiro, who was summoned by the police on June 6 in connection with the same case.
