ROURKELA: CPM workers of Sundargarh unit on Monday staged a road blockade at Rajamunda intersection of NH-23 and 215 protest ing the frequent hike in petrol prices. Left leaders, including district secretary Banamali Dhupal and former Bonai MLA Laxman Munda, criticised the UPA Government for the hikes and demanded rollback.They also appealed to the BJD-led State Government to reduce sales tax to provide some relief to people from the unprecedented burden of enhanced cost of petroleum products.Balasore: The members of BJD youth wing, led by its president Jajati Das, staged a road blockade on the National Highway-5 near Remuna Golai on Monday, demanding a rollback of the recent hike in petrol price. Traffic came to a standstill for over two hours.Das came down heavily on the Centre for hiking petrol price twice in the last four months.Legislators Jiban Pradip Dash and Sudarshan Jena also condemned the fuel price hike.
