Just when the police is facing the flak for apathy, traffic policemen in Ajmer have come up with a saving grace.

New Delhi: Right when the police were facing the flak for its apathy and dereliction of duty, the traffic policemen in Ajmer came up with the saving grace.

Traffic cops in Ajmer were seen presenting roses to those who flouted the traffic norms and requesting them to follow the traffic rules properly.

Inspired by Raju Hirani's Lage Raho Munnabhai, the policemen resorted to Gandhigiri to create awareness on traffic rules and road safety.

"Our cops gave roses to all those who were not following the traffic rules. The whole idea was appreciated by the locales during the traffic safety week," Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Ajmer, Jai Singh Rathore was quoted by PTI as saying.

"We had several phonecalls of locals who appreciated the idea and promised us to go by traffic rules," Rathore added.
