BANGALORE: The deceased Nagaraj had married Manjula a year ago, had a child a year ago, and the couple’s first child, a baby boy, was born on Friday. Souces said he had planned to go to his native place to see his baby. His relative Hanumathappa, who also sustained injuries said there were seven from their family working at the construction site. “The two were sleeping in the shed, while we five slept outside. Around 12.30 am, we heard loud noise and before we could see what had happened, a car sped towards us and we ran to save our lives. But Nagaraj was dragged by the car and it also hit us. As the car stopped after ramming into the compound, a tall woman got out of the car and fled,” he recollected. For the last few years, they have been working in the city as construction workers. Meanwhile, Krishnan, kin of the property owner, said, “The property belonged to my daughter, and we were constructing a house on the site. We were informed about the incident only in the morning. I am too old to come out to find out what happened and my daughter is not in town.” Killer vehicle was brand newThe SUV involved in the accident was reportedly purchased on February 25. “The car belonged to one Raghu Patel, a realtor and a resident of Kottanur. His cousin, Ravi had taken the car to attend a friend’s birthday party,” police informed.
