Dense fog disrupts flights, trains
There was no take-off from New Delhi airport and many flights were redirected. Flight schedules have been changed for days to come.

New Delhi: There's no respite from the cold wave in North India.

Heavy fog reduced visibility to almost zero at 0600 hrs (IST) on the New Delhi airport and no flight could take off from any of the two terminals.

However, visibility has improved now at the Delhi airport and arrival and departures have begun.

The flight schedules have been changed for the next few days in anticipation of more foggy conditions.

The dense fog also disrupted trains across India.

Some trains also running late are GT Express from Tamil Nadu, the Jhelum Express between Delhi and Kolkatta and the Jaipur-Delhi express.

The worst affected was GT express from Chennai which was delayed by six hours.

Tamil Nadu Express from Chennai was also delayed by four hours.
