HYDERABAD: Roads and building minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and senior IAS officer Samuel were questio ned by the CBI in connection with the alleged illegal assets case of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday. Prasada Rao, a confidante of former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was questioned in connection with the issuance of various GOs pertaining to land allotments to various firms including Vanpic.Sources told Express that the CBI had prepared a questionnaire comprising 28 questions. He was asked to explain the reason for issuing GOs allotting lands to Raghuram Cements and Vanpic. Nine GOs were issued at that time when Dharmana was the revenue minister in the YSR cabinet. Sources said that the CBI sought to know why lands were allotted to those companies who had reportedly invested in Jagan’s firms."I cooperated with the CBI and answered all the questions posed to me. I have provided adequate information to the agency,’’ Prasada Rao said after emerging from Dilkusha guest house, where he was questioned for more than an hour. He said he also explained the purpose of issuing the nine GOs.Earlier, Samuel, the then revenue secretary, was also questioned with regard to the GOs. Both Prasada Rao and Samuel were issued summons by the CBI asking them to appear before the agency.
