CHENNAI: A 20-year-old business administration student, who went missing just before he was to take a flight to Mumbai, was found wandering in the airport premises and was handed over to his guardian on Saturday. Police said the BBA student of a private college in Padur, son of a businessman in Saudi Arabia, was apparently mentally disturbed following some issues in his family and was under the influence of ganja. He had come to the airport, accompanied by his friends, to board a flight to Mumbai on Saturday morning. The youth ran out of the airport while his friends were getting him a boarding pass. His friends reported the matter to the police.Meanwhile, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel manning the airport found a person wandering near gate number six in a CCTV footage and reported the matter to the control room, police said. He was held and handed over to police. “He was under the influence of ganja and also had a packet of ganja in his pocket,” a police official said. The airport police handed him over to his uncle, who had by that time flown down to the city after he found that he had not landed in Mumbai. Sources said the parents of the 20-year-old were in Saudi Arabia and he was disturbed for the past one week as his parents allegedly had some problems between them. As he was found in a disturbed state, the warden of his hostel had called his uncle to inform him that they would send the boy to Mumbai. Accordingly, his friends had taken him to the airport, police said, adding that they did not registered any case.
