Drunkard makes away with booty

BANGALORE: A drunkard burgled a house of a software engineer and escaped with gold, silver ornaments, cash and foreign currency worth about Rs. 25.09 lakh. The incident was reported at the house of Jagadish in Basaveshwaranagar police station limits on Sunday.According to the police, Jagadish and his family members had gone to Tamil Nadu on October 6. When they returned on Sunday morning, they found the main door of the house broke open.They found a wardrobe broke open and the miscreant had decamped with 899 gm of gold jewels, 930 gm of silver ornaments, Rs. 1 lakh cash and foreign currency worth about Rs.1 lakh.Preliminary investigations revealed that a drunkard was behind the incident, and he had consumed alcohol at the terrace of the house before committing the theft.Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case and are investigating
