Another accused Baba Chauhan who supplied ammunition to actor Sanjay Dutt and Salim Kurla has been handed down 10 years imprisonment and asked to pay Rs 2.5 lakh.
The court is yet to decide on Dutt's sentencing. Dutt had filed an application under the Probation of Offenders Act under which a person can be released on probation instead of serving the sentence in prison.
The prosecution though had argued that Dutt could not be granted leniency for being a youthful offender as Dutt was 34 years old when he accepted an AK-56 rifle and a Chinese 9mm pistol from Samir Hingora.
The court on June 1 sentenced Samir Hingora to nine years' rigorous imprisonment in the blasts case.
