New Delhi: A magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the Iran-Pakistan border with tremors felt across North India, Pakistan and West Asia.
The quake struck at about 4:18 pm (IST) as strong tremors rocked Rajasthan, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday afternoon. The tremors lasted for over 20 seconds.
According to the USGS website, the earthquake to have hit Iran measured 8 on the Richter scale.
The quake reportedly lasted 15 to 20 seconds.
