Elect DVS to Council, BSY tells Opposition

HASSAN: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday said that he had appealed to independent MLA Sriramulu, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, former CM H D Kumaraswamy, Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G Parameshwar to elect Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda unanimously in the Council election.He told reporters at Kodimutt in Arsikere taluk where he visited Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji, that Opposition leaders and BJP legislators should support the Chief Minister and uphold democratic values.Brushing aside alleged differences among BJP leaders, Yeddyurappa said that all BJP MLAs were united and there was no question of opposing the candidature of Sadananda Gowda.BSY added that he had requested KPCC president Parameshwar to discuss the matter with the Congress high command.To a question, he said that he never lobbied for the CM post again and effectively managed both CM and president posts. The BJP government would complete its full term, he said.Housing Minister V Somanna was present. The former CM inaugurated the community hall in Haranahalli.
