BANGALORE: Seeking reelection for the fifth consecutive time, former minister and senior BJP leader Ramachandre Gowda has filed his nomination papers to contest the June 6 biennial elections to the state Legislative Council from Bangalore Graduates’ Constituency. Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Home Minister R Ashok, Kannada and Culture Minister Govind Karjol were among those leaders present when Gowda filed his papers with the Regional Commissioner here on Friday. Gowda had earlier served as the medical education minister in the BJP government led by then CM B S Yeddyurappa. He had also served as vice-chairman of the State Planning Board, from which he stepped down recently. Exuding confidence of a victory, Gowda said he would strive hard to fulfil the aspirations of voters. According to sources, as many as 13 candidates have filed their nominations for the Legislative Council.
