PARAVOOR: Christians in Kerala celebrated the feast of St. Thomas on Sunday with various ceremonies in their churches. Ernakulam Auxiliary Bishop Mar Sebastian Edayanthrath was the main celebrant of the ceremonies at the St. Thomas Kottackavu church, which was constructed by St. Thomas in Paravoor in AD 52. Mar Edayanthrath performed the rites of the mass baptism held at the Pilgrim Pond on the church premises.
St Thomas Jacobite Church, Paravoor Thrissur Diocese Metropolitan Kuriakose Mar Yousebios was the main celebrant of the ceremonies at the St. Thomas Jacobite Church, Paravoor. He led the 'moonnummel qurbana' assisted by vicar Fr. Elias Kaiparambattu, covicars Fr. K V Poulose, Fr. Mathews Parackal and Mulavarickal Bennyamin Ramban.
