Looks like the Flash Mob tradition has found its base among Hyderabadis. From the indoors of GVK One, Flash Mob found its way to the People’s Plaza Grounds on the Necklace Road. The city witnessed yet another, bigger, Flash Mob, with about 600 citizens dancing their hearts out on Sunday. Just for entertainment? Nah! This time around, the Flash Mob was for a cause, Go Green! Initiated by Aaryan Rajput, director of Twist and Turns, a dance institute in Rani Gunj, the Flash Mob saw people from corporates, schools and colleges coming together to create awareness about the environment. Apart from a fun-filled 11-minute joy of dancing, every participant was sent home with a sapling. Expressing his happiness over the response, Aaryan said, “I am super thrilled with the turnout of people here. They all had so much fun, and I think we should have more of these, not just for fun, but also to create awareness about many issues of concern.”  He also adds, “We wanted this Flash Mob to be different and innovative from the others and so, we chose People’s Plaza wherein more people can participate, without any space constraint.”But there were hurdles he had to cross to stage this dance fest, so to speak. “Initially, it was a little difficult to get permission from the government. But then everything fell in place and I guess it rocked,” he explains. The Flash Mob had over 200 employees from Wipro, over 60 from TCS and school and college students, among others. One of the dancers, Sneha Saxena of TCS, says, “We split into teams and then went to different places to gather people for the mob. It was a great experience and I had super fun.”Another dancer from ADP, Nitish Kumar chips in, “We practised for two days, but then finally it’s all about just having a great time, and at the same time promoting a cause.” The group is gearing up to hold another Flash Mob on January 26, where the crowd count can go into thousands or at least they hope so.
