New Delhi: Normal train and flight services were affected due to moderate fog in Delhi and NCR on Friday morning.

At least 107 trains (including long distance) were running behind schedule by several hours and four trains cancelled due to poor visibility in some areas. Thirty-two trains are re-scheduled, sources in the Indian Railways said.

Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were also affected. "We are expecting poor visibility in Delhi, Srinagar, Varanasi, Amritsar, Tuticorin, Aizawl, Chandigarh, Port Blair and Jabalpur. All passengers are requested to cross check their flight status before leaving for the airport," a statement issued by SpiceJet reads.

According to a MeT department official, the visibility was recorded low around 5 AM. The situation improved later in the morning but in some parts fog hits normal life.

The MeT department predicted that skies are expected to remain clear as the day progresses.

Due to cold and fog, authorities in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad districts have ordered all private and government schools to change timings.

Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate NP Singh has ordered to change the school timings for Nursery to Class VIII with effect from December 9.
