Four held for jewellery shop theft

HYDERABAD: North Zone police arrested four persons on Sunday for being involved in the theft at Sri Jalaram jewellery shop in General Bazar a few days ago. Police recovered 20 kg of silver. Deputy commissioner of police (North Zone) Ch Srikanth said Mahinder Chowdary, Ramesh, Kailesh Vyshnav and Dinesh hailing from Rajasthan were arrested, while one Navarathan is absconding. On June 28 midnight, all the five accused went to the top of the jewellery store and made a hole on the roof before gaining entry inside. “Navarathan and Mahinder went in and stole 38 kg of silver besides Rs 2 lakh cash,” Srikanth said. “Actually they were planned to flee to Rajasthan but we got a tip-off and nabbed them,’’ police said.
