Four robbers nabbed

BANGALORE: The Madivala police arrested four persons for allegedly committing robbery and have recovered gold ornaments worth `6.5 lakh. The accused have been identified as Salik Ahmad alias Salik (21), Siddique (21) Shahid Khan (23) and Ameen Pasha (20). One of the accused Salik is a son of notorious rowdy Tanveer’s brother. According to the police, the accused in the guise of students used to roam around in posh bikes. They allegedly operated in HSR Layout, Jayanagar, Mico Layout, Bannerghatta Road and other areas. They targeted elderly woman and escaped with their gold chains, while they robbed software engineers after they picked up a quarrel with them.“They pledged the gold ornaments with pawn brokers and with that money they used to lead a lavish lifestyle. They mostly spent the money at live bands, clubs and pubs,” police added.
