Free thyroid test

BANGALORE: BBMP is conducting free Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) tests at all BBMP hospitals for a duration of three years. Speaking to reporters on the eve of World Thyroid Day, Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy said that mostly women and children are affected by thyroid disease. In this regard, BBMP, in association with Abbott India Limited, a private organisation, will conduct free TSH tests in its hospitals and health centres for the next three years. This is to help poor and middle class people.Further, the Mayor said they have planned to conduct 4,000 TSH tests every month.
