Jayanagar police are searching for Divyashree, a 16-year-old girl, after she was reported to be missing by her parents on Saturday night. Her worried parents claim that she was kidnapped by her boyfriend Mohan, a fruit vendor, but her close friends reveal that she has run away with him as she was in love with him.
Interestingly, the girl had ran away from home earlier too. The JP Nagar police had traced her after she was found missing from home.
A Resident of JP Nagar, Divyashri was living with her parents. She was studying in I PUC at the Vijaya Evening College. When she went missing, her parents lodged a kidnap complaint. Initial enquiries revealed that the incident took place around 9.30 pm on Saturday. “She has been kidnapped by Mohan. He and his two other friends came on bikes, kidnapped her and rode away,” Sobha, Divyashri’s mother, alleged.
Her close friends said that Divyashri and Mohan knew each other for a couple of years and were frequently spotted together. Her parents were even more worried when they heard such news from her friends as she was a minor. “She called us on Sunday to inform us that she would be returning home after two days. She told us not to worry about her,” sources confirmed.
The police found out that she had a keen interest in dating men. A source also added that she often fell for any guy who claimed to be in love with her. “Sometimes, men would tell her that they would commit suicide if she denied to go out with them,” sources added.
Meanwhile, a friend of Mohan has informed the police that the ‘happy couple’ were on their way to Dharmasthala. Mohan had called his friend after reaching Kurubarahalli on Saturday night when he ran out of fuel in his bike. He had also asked his friend for some money to reach Majestic bus stop so that they could catch a bus to Dharmasthala. The Jayanagar police has registered a kidnap case against Mohan.
