Girl writes to President alleging harassment by principal, threatens suicide
Earlier, Ishika had written letters to President after she was allegedly beaten by the principal.

Gujarat: A 13-year-old girl student from Gujarat's Anand district wrote a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee claiming that she was harassed by her school principal and threatened to end her life if she does not get justice within 10 days.

Ishika Gupta, a student of class-VIII at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, alleged that the school principal Kiran Mhaske is harassing her.

"My school principal started harassing me after my father Rahul Gupta questioned Mhaske over the contribution sought (without any receipts) by the school in the name of development. I would like to request our President to punish him," she said.

In her letter, she stated that in eventuality of any mishap to her or her family, Anand district collector Dhaval Patel and the school management should be held responsible.

District authorities, however, quashed the allegations saying they were baseless.

Sources said, Ishika had written letters to President earlier in January after she was refused leave and allegedly beaten by the principal when she fell ill.

"Give me my right to education or let me gift you with my life," the girl stated in her letter to the President.

Anand District Collector Dhaval Patel, who is also the chairman of the committee which manages the school, said that it was an old matter and a probe is on.
