BANGALORE: Former chief justice of India R Rajendra Babu on Sunday said that a teacher has to conduct himself in a way that inspires students, because students observe the attitude and conduct of the teachers besides listening to their teachings.At a programme organised to confer Prof Vinayak Krishna Gokak Award on three professors by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Justice Rajendra Babu said, “A bad teacher complains, a good teacher tells, a very good teacher explains, a superior teacher demonstrates and a great teacher inspires by setting an example. It is always the responsibility of the teachers to guide and support their students, as students are the pillars of future.” The award was conferred on Prof S R Malagi, Prof S R Rohidekar and Prof Seshagiri Rao, in memory of Prof Vinayak Krishna Gokak, to commemorate Teachers Day on September 5.
