HC raises queries on T Nagar car park

CHENNAI: Will the proposed multi-level car parking on Bashyam Road near Panagal Park, T Nagar obstruct the park and cause any inconvenience to the people for parking their cars?This question was raised by the first Bench of the Madras HC, when the public interest writ petition from ‘Traffic’ K R Ramaswamy came up for hearing on Wednesday. Directing the counsel for Chennai Corporation to obtain instructions on the questions, the Bench adjourned the matter by four weeks. In his PIL, Ramaswamy submitted that he had sent a representation on November 25 to withdraw the proposal to construct the car parking. As there was no response, he said that he was filing this plea for a direction to the government to consider his plea and take action.
