BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Court has adjourned the hearing of the case in which former CM B S Yeddyurappa and his kin have been accused of awarding tenders illegally for the Upper Bhadra Project.The court adjourned hearing after the Lokayukta police, who had to submit an investigation report, requested the court to grant them more time to complete the investigation.Lokayukta ADGP Jeevan Kumar Gaonkar said that police investigation is already on.The case was filed by JD(S) leader Y S V Datta.Datta, in his complaint had alleged that the project was awarded to a private firm owned by R N Shetty that bid higher at `1,033 crore, violating existing norms that prescribe that the contract be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder.Further, Datta alleged that after winning the bid, the company had transferred `13 crore to two companies owned by Yeddyurappa’s sons.
