Heat wave intensifies in Delhi, 43.5 degree Celsius recorded on Sunday

New Delhi: The national capital continued to reel under intense heat wave on Sunday with scorching sun and high temperature making the life of Delhiites uncomfortable.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 43.5 degrees Celsius, a degree less than its corresponding figure posted on Saturday.

Both Palam and Delhi university observatories recorded temperature over 46 degree Celsius-mark.

Saturday was the season's hottest day in the national capital, with the mercury soaring to 44.5 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average.

The minimum temperature registered on Sunday was 27.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, a MeT Department official said.

The humidity oscillated between 27.5 per cent and 52.2 per cent respectively, he said. The weatherman has forecast "mainly clear sky" through out the day for tomorrow.

The maximum temperature will hover around 44 degrees Celsius, he said. On Saturday, the minimum temperature had settled at 29.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
