Ghaziabad: Bahujan Samaj Party MP Narendra Kashyap, his wife and his son have been sent to 14-day judicial custody in connection with the murder of his daughter-in-law Himanshi Kashyap.

Earlier in the day, the three were arrested for harassing Himanshi for dowry. Himanshi's family has alleged that her in-laws were demanding a Toyota Fortuner SUV.

The BSP MP was also roughed up by the victim's family members. But he and his family members have denied the charges.

Himanshi, the 29 year-old daughter-in-law of Kashyap, was found dead inside bathroom of their sector-23 Sanjay Nagar residence with gunshot injury on her head.

An FIR under sections 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 304B (death of a woman caused by burns or bodily injuries) of IPC and section 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act was lodged against the three as well as the MP's daughters Shobha and Sarita and Sagar's younger brother Siddharth on Wednesday.
