Mumbai: One the most innovative directors in the film industry, Farhan Akhtar, is all exited about his latest project, the remake of the 1970 hit Don.
"Comparisons with the original film are inevitable, but I would not like to pay any attention to them because they serve no purpose. The original film was a great movie, and was a modern film for its times. My film also has a very modern look for the times we live in now," says Akhtar.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor in a special appearance, the film has been shot almost entirely in Thailand and Malaysia.
According to him, the film involves a lot of daring stunts that both Shah Rukh and Priyanka wanted to perform themselves.
"Both Shah Rukh and Priyanka wanted to perform their stunts themselves and both have done very well," says Akhtar.
"As far as the music of the film goes, we have retained two original superhit numbers, Khaike Paan and Main Hoon Don, but the rest of the music is by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and they have done a very good job," informs Akhtar.
When asked why he was remaking the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer movie, Akhtar said, "It is one of favourite movies of all time and this is something I have always wanted to do. The shooting is over and now we are just adding finishing touches to the movie. So far I really like it, but I hope the audience also shares my view on the movie".
