KOTTAYAM: Refusing to tender an apology to T V Rajesh MLA, Rural Development and Registration Minister K C Joseph on Saturday said he had not made any objectionable remarks against the MLA or his family and said he would resign from the House if proved otherwise. The minister said he had only described the incident as shameful and appealed to the Speaker to order a probe into it. He also dismissed Rajesh’s charge that the Watch and Ward staff attacked him.Joseph told reporters here that the UDF was firm on the action to be taken against CPM MLAs T V Rajesh and James Mathew for allegedly manhandling a woman Watch and Ward staffer. “The UDF Government has strongly demanded that the clippings of the incident be shown to the public so that they get to know the real colours of the Opposition,” he said. “The Speaker is in North Kerala and the matter will be taken up with him once he returns. It is clear that the LDF had violated the norms of the House and this is why it was against showing the clippings to the people,” he said.On the conduct of T V Rajesh, Joseph said the MLA had earlier been booked for misbehaving with a woman cop and another police official in Thiruvananthapuram and a non-bailable case was registered against him.
