Understanding of god
Whenever someone comes to me asking for help, I think god sends the person to me. Shiva is my favourite deity and I'm still not sure why I believe so much in him.
Spiritual beliefs
I’m thankful to god for what I’m today. I always wanted to be an actor and now I am living that dream. I begin everything with a prayer because I believe that god takes care of me. There are a few who don’t believe in god, but I’m sure they can feel his presence if they have the faith in him.
Practices
I fast every fortnight without fail. My dad was a spiritual person. He would ensure anyone who visited our home ate before they left I have inherited his helping tendency and hope to be in a position to help others till the end. My dad wanted to build an old age home and I’m working to fulfill his dream.
Miracles
My life has been full of miracles. I never had a film background, but have managed becoming an actor. Director Cheran had a different actor in mind to do the role I played in Thavamai Thavamirundhu, but fortunately I bagged it. Even in my forthcoming film Annakodiyum Kodiveeranam, Bharathiraja sir signed me to play Ameer s pair. Though the project was dropped, he has written a special role for me in his new script.
Favourite pilgrimage spots
When I’m not shooting, I regularly visit temples — Mondays to a Shiva temple, Tuesdays to Mangadu, Thursdays to a Sai Baba Temple and Fridays to Kalikambal Temple. I visit Tiruvannamalai every month. Last year, I was able to get a glimpse of Arunachaleswarar, though the temple was crowded. I plan to visit Shirdi soon.
