Chennai: An Indian Airlines Airbus A320 flight on Chennai-Port Blair sector, with 50 passengers aboard, returned to base after flying for nearly an hour as it developed a "technical snag", airport sources said on early Wednesday.
The flight left here at 06.15 (IST) and returned and landed here safely at 07.15 (IST) the sources said.
The flight after its rectification would leave for Port Blair on Thursday morning, the sources said.
All the passengers were accommodated in some city hotels, the sources said.
Earlier a Jet Airways flight from London to Mumbai had made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport on Sunday after developing an engine snag.
The emergency landing had followed an engine failure.
However, the flight 9W 118 landed safely on one engine at around 1200 hrs (IST).
