New Delhi: Terming as "unfortunate" Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's comments that Mumbai attacks must have had support of some Pakistani official agencies, Islamabad on Tuesday said the two sides should not indulge in a "blame-game".
Pakistan's National Security Advisor, Mahmud Ali Durrani has told CNN-IBN: "Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's comments are unfortunate. The two sides should not indulge in blame-game. India should let Pakistan complete investigations. Pakistan has assured India that it wouldn't spare the perpetrators."
Durrani pointed out that Pakistan has already stated that it will not spare anyone found to be involved in the attacks.
The Foreign Office is also expected to formally respond to Singh's comments, official sources said.
Addressing a conference of Chief Ministers in New Delhi to discuss India's internal security situation, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had accused Pakistan of using terror as an instrument of state policy.
"On the basis of the investigation carried, (including by agencies of some foreign countries whose nationals were killed), there is enough evidence to show that given the sophistication and military precision of the attack, it must have had the support of some official agencies in Pakistan," he said on the Mumbai terror strikes.
