Similarly, recently, a farewell ceremony was held for the police officer who got transferred from Kasaragod, Kerala. A viral video shows a farewell ceremony of a Station House Officer (SHO) MP Azad who has received a transfer order from Kasaragod. The clip has been making the rounds of the internet as he received a farewell in quite a unique manner. He was made to sit like a groom while a group performed the traditional Oppana dance. The SHO hails from Kozhikode and got posted at the Hosdurg police station just four months ago, in connection with the Lok Sabha elections. The event was held at Kottappuram Resort the other day.
“The policeman made to sit like a bridegroom… The farewell of the transferred officer went viral”, read the caption. What caught the attention of the social media users was the fact that everyone seemed to be enjoying every moment in the video. From dancing to laughing and hollering, the event had all the elements of a celebration. A comment read, “Look at the happiness of the colleagues.” Another wrote, “This is too sweet.”
The farewell was organised by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), Lathish for SHO MP Azad. During the event, the Oppana song played and the colleagues made him sit on a chair and surrounded him. They honoured him by offering him a beautiful shaw. What followed next was a dance performance. As the energy levels peaked, even the DySP joined in the energetic dance performance. SHO MP Azad has been transferred to Chakkarakkal station. During his posting in Hosdurg, he has arrested many criminals.
