HYDERABAD: A petition was filed in the CBI Special Court on Wednesday by the Income Tax department officials of Bangalore seeking transfer of the amount that was seized by the investigation agency during searches at Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy’s houses at the time of their arrest.B Kiran, assistant director, Bellary IT department, moved a petition stating that Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law had submitted false records to the IT department regarding payment of tax and still had tax dues to the tune of Rs 120 crore. The officials sought transfer of the amount seized by the CBI— Rs 2.94 lakh from Gali Janardhan Reddy’s home and Rs 1.30 lakh from B V Srinivas Reddy - on September 5 during searches to the IT department. Neither the accused nor the OMC officials had shown the recovered money in the IT returns, they said.
