Janta Verdict: Shahid and Anushka are perfect
Janta Verdict: Shahid and Anushka are perfect
The weekend looks strong for 'Badmaash Company'

Housefull was the only film which was able to grab the attention of the audience in the last couple of weeks. The makers of that film have set out to create a new box office record. However, Badmaash Company which released on May 7, starring Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma might put an end to their dream run.

The first show had an audience only belonging to one category, the college crowd. The box office had a decent queue of the young audience with their college bags in one arm and their girlfriends on the other, waiting to buy tickets. The theatre hall had occupancy of around 35–40 per cent. Let’s make it simple. The last four rows were full.

The first half of the film is flawless. It keeps the audience involved and the music is the icing on the cake. People applauded to scenes which were really hilarious. Anushka got some whistles too.

“Shahid is very cute in the film. His pairing with Anushka is looking perfect and so far I had a real good time”, said Pooja Khatri, a college student.

There are few signs to find out whether the audiences are enjoying the film or not. When people talk to each other or fidget with cell phones, it means they have lost interest in the film.

Another college student, Parth Pabari, who had come with his bunch of friends said, “Anushka is looking super hot. Can’t imagine this is the same girl who covered herself from head to toe in Rab Ne… Even Vir Das and Meiyang have been real good entertainers”.

The friendship between the four actors on screen really blossoms and comes across as a great bond. The problem lies in the second half of the film when it becomes a little serious. A lot of chatting is heard among the audience and cell phones are back on ringing mode. The film fails to have many thrills in the second half and becomes predictable.

Raunak Sangle, an aspiring cricketer, who came to watch the film immediately after the net practice said, “I came for entertainment and I got that. Yes, the second half is boring but I got no complains, as finally it is a Hindi film and it cannot be complete without emotions."

India is playing against Australia in the T20 World Cup on Friday. So, if not on Friday, the weekend definitely looks strong for Yash Raj Films' Badmaash Company.
