Jat Mahasabha takes NCERT head on
Haryana Jat Mahasabha will stage a dharna to protest the description of Jats as a community of Lutere.

Panipat: To protest description of Jats as a community of 'Lutere' in a book published by the NCERT, the Haryana unit of All India Jat Mahasabha will stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on August 29.

Announcing this on Sunday, the vice president of Haryana Jat Mahasabha, Ranbir Singh Chaudhary flayed the NCERT for incorporating insulting remarks against the Jat community, which has been one of the leading communities for making supreme sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the nation.

He chided the author of the book for his little knowledge about the Jat community, which was an integral part of Hindu, Sikh and Muslim societies, for its fight against the tyranny of British rulers and a few Mughal emperors before independence.

Demanding immediate withdrawal of the controversial book, being taught in XI class history in Maharashtra, and registration of a case against the author of the book, Chaudhary warned that the community will not tolerate such insulting remarks.
