New Delhi: Jonty Rhodes ? one of the finest fielders cricket has ever seen ? is to hold a training camp from November 25-27, at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in New Delhi.
The retired South African cricketer will teach the finer points of fielding to youngsters in the camp.
In a statement issued on behalf of the World Cricket Academy, CCI President, Raj Singh Dungarpur said that 15 boys from 9 cricket associations affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India are to participate in this unique endeavour.
Apart from CCI, cricketers from the associations in Mumbai, Vidarbha and the states of Maharastra, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab are to participate in the camp.
According to the CCI president, Mansur Ali Khan 'Tiger' Pataudi--the best-known outfielders to have represented the country--will be present at the inauguration of the camp.
A book, titled Test Cricketers Born in Maharashtra (1932-2000) and written by veteran broadcaster Bal Pandit, will also be released on the occasion by another former India Test player and ex-CCI president, Madhav Apte.
